I wasn't always organized. Like most children my room was frequently a huge mess and I procrastinated on school projects. I forgot my glasses, book bag, and lunch money.

As a young mother I changed my ways some; I needed to get out of the house with everything a baby needs in time to get to where I needed to be! So I would pack my diaper bag the night before and keep an "emergency kit" in the car. I started a 'to do' box for anything that needed my attention.

A few years later I had an Interior Design degree behind me and was a stay-at-home mom of four children under the age of seven. One Saturday morning my Grandma called to tell me some relatives were in town and they would be over in fifteen minutes!! My husband and I scrambled to stuff the dirty dishes in the oven and shut all the bedroom doors...I felt guilty when the relatives told me what a beautiful home I had! This was when I decided I really needed to get my act together! I developed a system for my family that has morphed over the years as the kids have grown and our situation has changed. I was able to work full time and still maintain our home and family with few sacrifices.

When I left my full time job with the Courts, I needed to decide what to do with myself. Several friends called to ask if I would "bring some of that organizing over to them". This started me thinking - I asked friends and family about the idea and they convinced me it was the right business for me. In Its Place was born!

On top of running In its Place - I have a husband, four active children and five rambunctious dogs….I can relate on how things can get out of control!
